TrapScan costs $108 NZD per project per year, including GST. A subscription covers everyone recording trap checks for the project, with unlimited checks and no per-user charges or subscription tiers.
I'm Kurtis Papple, and I run TrapScan as a GST-registered sole trader in New Zealand.
What's included
Your annual subscription provides:
- unlimited people recording trap checks for the project;
- unlimited trap checks;
- full use of TrapScan for the project;
- automatic syncing of checks to your Trap.nz project, as described in How data syncs with Trap.nz;
- your first pack of 25 TrapScan Cards, free during your first year (postage is charged separately).
People recording checks for your project don't need to purchase their own subscriptions. Additional cards are available separately, with no extra subscription add-ons.
Multiple or small projects
If your group manages several small, closely related projects, I can group them under one subscription where it makes sense. For example, a group might keep a backyard trapping project separate from a nearby public trapline to keep their data organised, without needing to combine the two projects solely for billing.

If you run a small project on a tight budget, email contact@trapscan.app. I'd rather help you keep recording trapping data, and I can usually arrange a discounted subscription, staged payment or another suitable arrangement.
Before you subscribe
There isn't a self-service trial for setting up your own project. If you'd like to see how TrapScan works first, email contact@trapscan.app and I can show you how to record checks and manage a project.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions are billed annually in advance. $108 covers 12 months, equivalent to $9 per month, paid as one annual amount. The subscription and card prices shown here include 15% New Zealand GST.
Payment is by New Zealand bank transfer. I'll send you an invoice with the payment details. Your subscription also helps cover the cost of running, maintaining and improving TrapScan.
Before renewal, I'll email you an invoice. If payment is late, there's a three-month grace period from the invoice due date during which your project continues to work normally.
If payment remains overdue
If the subscription is still unpaid after the grace period, the project's service may be suspended. Existing data is retained, and the project can become active again after the outstanding subscription is paid.
TrapScan Cards
Cards are sold in packs of 25. Additional packs cost $25 NZD each, including GST, plus postage.
With an active paid project subscription, your first pack of 25 cards is free during your first year. You pay the postage for that pack.

Cancellation
You can stop using TrapScan at any time, without a cancellation fee or notice period. Checks you've already recorded remain in Trap.nz if you stop using TrapScan.
